Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival - Sakura Matsuri
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Their annual Cherry Blossom Festival brings together dozens of demonstrations of the art and culture of Japan in this celebration of the wonder of the cherry blossom. I will be doing two demonstrations, one on for adults on Saturday at 1:30-2:45 and one for children on Sunday, May 1 between 2:00-4:00. I will also have a tent set up so you can view my newest gyotaku.

The Second Annual Peconic Bay Fishing Tournament to Benefit the Lymes Disease Association June 11, 2011
My work will be on display at Strong's Marina with 20% of all sales going to the Lymes Disease Association. The gyotaku, Golden Striper is the official emblem of this worthy charity event. In addition to cash, first prize for the striper, bluefish and fluke categories will be a Jaxsfish Print. A framed snapper gyotaku will reward the winner of the junior division.

Hampton Bays Classic Fishing Tournament to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters
August 21 Awards Dinner
Last year the Hampton Classics auctioned off a gyotaku of a 227 lb. Big Eye Tuna to the benefit of the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. This year we will find another dramatic Gyotaku to contribute. Other Jaxsfish prints will be on display at the awards dinner on August 21, with 20% going directly to the cause.
